Input rules
Domestic input accepts ordinary punctuation and automatically normalizes a 10-digit NANP number to +1NXXNXXXXXX. International input is normalized to E.164 with a leading +.
A successful carrier lookup describes numbering/routing data. It does not prove who currently possesses a handset or where a person is physically located.
LRN
The Local Routing Number helps route calls after number portability. An LRN may point to the current serving switch/carrier rather than the original number block owner.
OCN / SPID
Operating Company Numbers and service-provider identifiers are useful when tracing number ownership, porting, and intercarrier routing issues.
